I started my leadership journey in the early 1990’s after being inspired by Dr. Deming during one of his famous 4 day seminars. He left the indelible impression that leaders are responsible for creating the environment for others to succeed. He shared that “management’s overall aim should be to create a system in which everybody may take joy in his work”.
During the past 30 years I’ve had the opportunity to serve in a variety of technology, business, and church leadership positions where I’ve focused on creating opportunities for others. I’ve strived to live out Deming’s management aim within the communities I’m a part of. At this stage in my career, I think about how I might contribute on a broader scale.
I chose Gonzaga’s Masters in Organization Leadership program to provide the inspiration and insight needed for the next 20 years of my leadership journey. The servant leadership concentration aligned in terms of who I desire to be as a leader. When I completed this degree, I found myself a better servant leader, coach, and mentor to those around me.
This website provides insight into who I am as well as outlines the learning that has taken place during my Gonzaga experience. My leadership profile is a point in time snapshot, what capabilities I’ve mastered, and where this journey may go.
